stop and smell the roses
ok, well, I suppose you can't really smell them through the computer but you can check out the beautiful pictures. B.J. has been working on the roses and has produced some amazing results. The peace rose has sprouted 5 or six new buds and has new stalks starting all over the place. Last year we only had one bloom...this year we have already had about 8! I told him he should blog about it himself. He should start a 'macho gardener' club...you know...drink beers talk trash and prune flowers..ha!

A Tale of Two Videos
The first Video is of Lilly 'reading' me a story. She's sorta got the right idea..ha! Second video is of Logan...poor Logan has a hard time dealing....with life in general...I'll warn you the crying Logan video might be hard to watch. He is really really super duper upset but I assure you he is juuuuuust fine.

Happy birthday to ME!

Kids are sound asleep and I'm here hangin out in the quiet house getting ready to fold some laundry and relax with BJ. Sooooo, as the song goes...I'm another year older and deeper in debt....but happy and loved. Life is good.
The apron I'm wearing was a gift from Sara and it is PERFECT! I love it! The beautiful tiger lilies are from BJ, he knows just what I like....simple things......I think 33 is gonna be good. Thank for all the phone calls and birthday wishes..I love you all!

busy bees
We have been busy busy bees here. We are preparing to have guests later this month(Ague, Papa, and Granny on the 20th-25th, then Aunt-Drea the 25-30th!)and BJ is preparing for a 10 day work trip that will leave me alone here to finish up whatever needs to be done before our guests arrive. In the past couple of days we have cleaned out the garage(mostly...ugh) and dragged out all the unwanted crap to the driveway for a garage sale, cleaned out Logan's closet, finished painting the desk and chair I bought(for just 5$!) and turned his closet into a mini office for him, cleaned out the pantry, did TONS of laundry, and dusted the bookcases and filled them with books. Besides all the afore mentioned hard work we have also managed to find some time the hang out and have fun! I included pics of Lilly pretending to be a little 'bandita'..oh how she loves posing for the camera...and Logan reveling in his freshly cleaned room. Well, Logan just slid up behind me and said in the sweetest tiny voice "Good Morning Mama". I guess I'm off to start another wonderful day!

burn baby burn
I know this blog is called "Life is Good" and probably should not use it for miserable rants but oh well toooo bad....
This a rant about me being stupid.
We went out to Port Gamble yesterday for the Great Peninsula Future Fest(celebrating sustainable resources and keeping things 'green'....or if you are BJ, the stinky hippie fest)
It was a beautiful sunny day and I , of course, forgot to put sunscreen on myself.
Last night I winced as my burnt shoulders hit the cold sheets and today I am feeling the full effects of too much sun, pukey dizzy sleepy headacheyness...ugh.
Totally my own fault...duh.
Anyways the kiddos had fun. Lilly liked the performance by the trapeze artists the best!

Life is good
Changing gears a bit here. I have been intending to write more often and about a wider variety of subjects here and never seem to find the time. We have lots of great stuff going on all the time and I would like to use this forum to share more than just pics of the kiddos. SO yeah....here it goes. Life is GOOD. Not all that exciting , nothing spectacular to share just a few notes on the in and outs of daily life here in our household. Someone asked me today what we "DO" without cable TV. I was flustered at first trying to come up with a list of all the fun stuff we fill our days with and then just decided to say......"we live!" Life is good, and busy here, as usual. BJ arrived home from a trip to Florida on Saturday afternoon. We spent the evening with friends and enjoyed some tasty free food food(oh yess Sara, the rhubarb crisp was amazing.......)and then spent Sunday completing some gardening projects including new plantings in the front and side flowerbeds and finally used the giant pickle jar I've been saving to make a terrarium. I am awful with house plants but been itching to have something growing indoors. Lilly asked me if I put the tiny wolfman figure in there "because he's really wild?" I'm gonna have Lilly and Logan help me make a few more and we'll have self sustaining plant life to enjoy. BJ has been realllly into maintaining the roses and found a beautiful yellow plant to replace the foxglove we had next to the front porch. Speaking of the front porch I painted it a few weeks ago and I am loving the custom color I mixed more each day. You can see a little glimpse of it in one of the pics.I also included a pic of what we had for dinner tonight. A simple favorite. Broccoli and cheese rice with garlic grilled chicken. I've been making garlic chicken in abundance(boneless skinless sauteed in olive oil lemon juice and garlic) and using it in various recipes all week long...southwest chicken salad, linguine with sundried tomato alfredo, ceaser salad, etc..BJ is off to band practice and I am headed to the balcony to read a few pages of a book while the kiddos relax in the cool basement...life really is good.....
