Logans 2nd birthday

strange...my baby boy is 2 already...I know everybody says this...'they grow up too fast'...but I'm gonna say it anyways....he had a great time and especially loved his cake...although he didn't eat much...he just REALLLY liked the blowing out candles part...ha.

the other day Lilly was taking a nap...she woke up and started telling me about something but it took me a moment to catch on...she said to me.."Mama, I was sleeping and in the story in my sleeping there was a monster chasing Logan but I killed'd him, thats a bad story"...she kept insisting that there was a 'story' in her head and it occurred to me that she was dreaming but did not know the word dream....so I explained to her about dreams ans sleeping best I could, and being the matter of fact kinda kid she is, she looked up at me and said "yes Mama, monsters are only dreams".....

Logan is figuring out how to express himself (without hitting...ha) a little better everyday...we are still doing sign language but he has now put words or sounds with almost every sign he does...he is the sweetest most affectionate child I have ever known...he now does this weird thing where he makes a kissy face but instead of a peck it turns a full on make out mushy long movie star kiss ....ha

the other morning, after getting dressed , Lilly stood and looked at herself in the mirror, dancing and checking herself out, saying to herself, "I am REALLY pretty cute"...I love that little kid confidence, pure and perfect, before the world has affected them, I wish I could keep her this way...I hope she will always loveherself like this...this is a pic from that day, at the county fair, with her best buddy Evan, they are so sweet with eachother, sometimes..ha

HAIRCUTS

Lilly is always complaining about her hair...so we got it cut nice and short... sooo cute and she loves it!.....we also got Logans hair cut...nice and short...so cute...now I need mine cut...nice and short...maybe...ha

my Birthday

it was my birthday yesterday and BJ took the day off work(secretly) he snuck out of bed and decorated the house with balloons and streamers and some beautiful flowers and cooked breakfast for me! what a great way to wake up!..we had yet another visit to the ER...Lilly went last week after her finger was smooshed in the door when we went out for dinner, and yesterday Logan was acting like his left arm was hurting and at one point stopped using it all together, he had some X-rays but they said he might have just popped his elbow out of place, or sprained his wrist...who knows...he is still hurting to day and if it doesn't get better by tomorrow I am going to make him an appointment with his regular doctor...so after the ER visit we came home and made dinner and baked cookies and a couple of friends came over...it was an almost perfect birthday!

Change

Things have been stressful here lately, lots of changes happening, we took down Logan's 'bed'(playpen)and moved him to the little toddler bed(still in our room), Lilly has decided she wants to sleep in her 'big girl' bed upstairs, and she has been getting up all on her own to go potty every night!...YAY no more pull-ups...and we are going cold turkey with Logan's bottles, he was taking 1-2 bottles @ night up until last week, but its bad for his teeth and his speech development so we are no longer offering him any bottles. I have tried to give him a little milk in a sippy cup before bed but he's still pissed and wants his "BAAABAAAA"....and...Bj is still trying hard to quit smoking, the patch is hurting his arm and he has been crabby but he is doing GREAT!..

More Logan Stuff

we had a second evaluation today and Logan is showing a slight delay in his verbal skills, he is 20 months old but only speaking as much as the average 13 month old...I am not really concerned at this point but I am going to go ahead with speech therapy. He is really advanced in his motor skills and the therapist said that we should continue with sign language because that seems to be how he prefers to communicate. That means I am going to have to learn some more signs!..we had a really fun day today, Sara set up a visit to the local fire station and the kids had a GREAT time, they got to look around the inside of the fire house and in the garage @ the ambulance and fire truck, and then they pulled the truck out and did a demonstration with the hoses and sprayed water up over the trees. One firefighter asked Lilly if she wanted to be a firefighter when she grows up and she said "no I want to be a race car"...not a race car driver...she actually wants to BE a race car, like in the movie 'Cars'...ha

Sooo...as I assumed the Docs said that Logan's allergy meds are not working and suggested that we double the dose...the problem is that doing so may cause unwanted side effects...they told me to watch him for the next 2 weeks and then bring him back if he has not improved...He has been up all night coughing and rubbing his scratchy eyes for the past few nights...he is extremely over tired and grumpy right now...hopefully a consultation with an Allergist will help us figure out what is making him so miserable so we can avoid those triggers if at all possible...I am becoming more concerned about him being allergic to the dog or maybe the cats...he is worse at night when we are in the basement which is where the pets spend most of their time...ugh..

Logan

I am taking Logan to the doctor today. He has been coughing and congested on and off for over 3 weeks. I think it might just be his allergies but I am not sure...I will talk to the doc about maybe changing his allergy meds to see if that helps....well...we are off to get ready and I will update with the doctors input later.

Lilly's Family

wouldn't it have been great if there were pictures to go with the last entry...but no...the movers lost our camera...and we have not yet completed our paperwork to submit to the navy so we can be reimbursed...I think maybe we will just purchase a new camera on credit and pay it off when we get our money later....

hope

BJ is on day 2 of his latest attempt to quit smoking....he has tried this many times, I don't want to jinx it by being too hopeful but I really think he is going to succeed this time...his smoking has been a constant source of discord for many years now and I am looking forward to a healthy and odoriferous future together. Today we drove to the small town of Port Gamble, it was raining on and off all day but miraculously the rain subsided just as we rolled past the perfect little shops and homes along the main strip. We got out of the van and had a picnic lunch and walked through the various shops and museums and took in the amazing view of the water. I knew this would happen, after all my complaints and resistance about returning here, I am loving the clean air and awesome beauty and feeling more at home than I ever thought I would.

so umm yeah....blog...uhh...ok...pics of the kids...here you go...I will write someting inspiring later..or tomarrow...I need to wash the kitchen floor...and do more laundry..and clean the kitchen...and do a bunch of other crap I dont feel like doing...so yeah....this is a blog...whatever
